Hyde Athletic 2
Scorpions 1

William Hodgson (1)

In a very good game of Under 11's footbal The Scorpions made a bright start and for the first 10 minutes the game was evenly balanced. However, the last 20 of the first half saw us concede two goals as Hyde dominated the midfield area and found a lot of space up front as well. Every time they went forward they looked like creating a scoring chance and deservedly led 2-0 at half time having had another one ruled out for offside.
The second half was a different story with the Scorpions raising their performance level and competing very well all over the pitch. We had a number of corners and having had a goal bound shot blocked from one of them scored from another corner a few minutes later, Will Hodgson executing an excellent overhead kick. The lads pushed on for the final few minutes but couldnt find an equaliser against the team who have won every league match so far this season.
If the lads compete as they did in the second half against the best side in the league they will win far more games than they will lose.
