Report

By 6pm Friday evening it looked like the game would not be played.  During this time of drought and hosepipe bans it seemed only fitting the game should be called off due to a waterlogged pitch!! However thanks to Rose Hill the game went ahead away in Marple which it seems doesn't suffer the same miserable micro climate as Macclesfield!

The Inter Macc team was invited to play this friendly game by Rose Hill due to quality of football during our first meeting way back in October.  This encounter wasn't to disappoint.  The quality of play from both teams was brilliant, every player wanted to ball to feet and was positive when in possession.  While referring the game i remember thinking "I would pay to watch this" (I am a Leeds fan!!!).

The first 10 minutes didn't quite go to plan for Inter Macc, despite being the more positive team and having the more of the ball the team found themselves 2-0 down.  Ironically with all the good passing on display it was a route one thump that created the first goal for Rose Hill.  However the Rose Hill lead didn't stop Inter Macc playing their football and creating chances.  Throughout the game each Inter Macc player showed how much they have improved this season demonstrating the ability to control the ball at speed and always looking to score.  It was this relentless pressure on the Rose Hill goal that saw Inter Macc run out winners in the end.  Two goals from Chris and one a piece from Alfiie and Matty B saw the team run out 4-3 winners.

Irrespective of the result the football played was a credit to both teams playing the game in the right way.
